Class Plans
- Online class including videos, feedback through email and sessions with me.
- Eight week course begins in mid-September - September 18th
- For beginner level painters
- What's included: planning a composition, working with values and composition, color mixing to match values, blocking in colors
- Supplies you'll need: canvases in a smaller size you are comfortable working on, brushes (flat, round, larger, smaller), medium and brush cleaner (I use walnut oil as both a medium and a brush cleaner to avoid working with harmful fumes), painting pallet
Lessons:
Pre-class setup: brushes, paints,
1. Making an apple look 3D - beginning to work with values.
2. Creating a color chart based on colors you use, having a process for creating a painting, sketching on the canvas and blocking in (flowers in a vase)
3. blocking in, working from bigger to smaller to get details (flowers in a vase continued)
4. types of composition: L-shape, S-curve, radiating lines
5. types of composition: circle, fulcrum, reflection
6. values - using a value scale to mix paint
7. (to be determined)
8. using the value scale and color chart together when mixing paints
